On Wednesday, it was confirmed that two people at a special accommodation in Kalmar County were infected by covid-19.

Those infected, who are a man of 85 years and a woman of 90 years of age, were discovered after the infection clinic at the County Hospital in Kalmar on Tuesday started with random sampling of special farmer and elderly residents in the county. The test response came during Wednesday.

- During the day we informed the staff of the accommodation and started contact tracking. By finding infection early and stopping the spread, we can save lives among our elderly, says infection control physician Lisa Labbé Sandelin in a press release.

By Tuesday, 260 people had been sampled in the county for covid-19 and 18 people had been confirmed infected so far.
