On April 22, Russia would have said in a referendum on President Vladimir Putin's stated constitutional reform package, which will allow him to run for two more terms and remain until 2036. But now Putin is suspending the referendum citing the proliferation of the new coronavirus.

"I think the vote must be postponed to a later date," Putin said in a televised speech, without mentioning which date.

According to the proposal, the limitation on two terms for a president should remain, but Putin himself should be able to start over.

The country's Constitutional Court has already said yes. It has also done Parliament's lower house and upper house in various polls as well as regional parliaments.
