March 25, 2020 Alitalia continues, in coordination with the Foreign Ministry's Crisis Unit, the return operations of compatriots from abroad, in particular students and young workers. This is stated in a note which adds that tomorrow, Thursday 26 March, the airline will carry out two special flights from Dublin, one from Cairo and one from Belgrade, all for Rome, which will guarantee over 900 compatriots to return to Italy .

Airbus 330 aircraft will operate on connections from Ireland and Egypt, large capacity aircraft usually used on long-haul routes. Furthermore, by accepting the request of the Irish Foreign Ministry, Alitalia coordinated with the institutions involved to allow even Irish citizens stuck in Italy to use the second of the flights departing tomorrow from Rome to Dublin for the return.

D'Incà, government at work for the repatriation of Italians
From 10 to 23 March "about 30 thousand compatriots who were temporarily abroad" returned to Italy. "We work to ensure the return of all compatriots abroad who request it."
