According to the latest statistics, the new Corona virus infected 420,897 people and killed 18,831, which represents 4.5% of all infections, while 108,520 people recovered, or 25% of the total infected.

Italy ranks first in the number of deaths, followed by China, Spain and Iran, while the disease is spreading rapidly in the United States, threatening disaster in the most powerful country in the world.

The United States has accused China of withholding information that would assist the world in facing Corona, and while Iran announced that it had passed the first wave of the virus and was afraid of a second wave, a senior Italian official made statements that would explain the country's tremendous number of deaths from the virus.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the ruling Communist Party of China is depriving the world of the information it needs to prevent further infections of the Coronavirus.

"What worries me is that this blackout and this misinformation in which the Communist Party of China is participating still deprives the world of the information it needs in order for us to prevent new injuries or repeat something like this again."

The US Secretary also accused Iran and Russia of launching disinformation campaigns about the virus.

"The disinformation campaigns are still going on by Russia and Iran as well as by China," he said. "They say it came from the American army, and it may have started in Italy, everything to evade responsibility."

"It will be time to press charges," he added, but added that it was important for the world to know what was really happening.

The new focus
Pompeo's statements come as the Corona virus is spreading rapidly in the United States, where it has so far infected 53,740, and has killed 780.

The World Health Organization said on Tuesday that the United States is a candidate to be the epicenter of the global epidemic, after China was the center, then Europe.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump told a news conference that his country faces a "great national ordeal" and urged Americans to commit to social estrangement.

But he added that he was looking to end the closing procedures for various commercial activities and institutions by Easter on April 12, a statement that drew criticism from his Democratic opponents.

The second wave
In Iran, President Hassan Rouhani said that his country has passed the first wave of the spread of the Coruna virus, "and there are warnings from the second wave."

Rouhani has vowed to take tougher measures to tackle the Coruna virus to save people's lives.

Earlier, the Iranian president announced that the period of temporary release of 85,000 prisoners would be extended by at least another 16 days, in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus in the country's prisons.

Until now, the Coruna virus had infected about 25,000 people in Iran, killing 1934.

Iran is fighting a deadly virus, while it is under severe financial sanctions from the United States.

Rouhani spoke of "efforts in the Security Council to lift the sanctions and lift the embargo on Iranian frozen funds."

Iran announced earlier that the number of deaths caused by the Corona virus in the country rose to 1934 and infections to 24,811 cases.

Italian puzzle
The Italian bleeding is still continuing due to the Corona virus, which yesterday claimed 743 lives, bringing the total deaths to 6820, or 9.8% of the 69,176 infections.

The head of the Italian Civil Status Agency has provided information that explains the high rate of virus mortality in Italy compared to the rest of the world.

In comments to the newspaper "La Repubblica", Angelo Borrelli said that the number of new cases of coronavirus in the country may be ten times more than the figures officially announced.

"For every positive result officially approved, there are ten that are not approved," he added.

This information means that there are 600,000 confirmed cases of a virus in Italy.

CNN said the Italian official's estimates could help explain "what appears to be a much higher mortality rate in Italy than in other countries."

In Germany, data for the Robert Koch Institute of Public Health showed on Wednesday that the number of new cases of coronavirus in the country rose to 31,554, while the number of deaths reached 149.

The data stated that the number of injuries rose 4191, while the deaths increased by 36 deaths.

In China, where the virus first appeared last December, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday that the Chinese mainland had recorded a decrease in the number of cases of the Coronavirus, and that all of them were for travelers from abroad.

She added that the number of new cases decreased to 47 from 78 the previous day, bringing the total confirmed cases in the mainland to 81,218 cases, while 3281 deaths were recorded overall.

For its part, the Israeli Ministry of Health announced two deaths in Corona and 474 injuries in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths to 5 and those injured to 2030.
