Ryanair has released information that it is suspending its traffic and that it expects it to last for both April and May.

Joakim Lindholm, Operational Manager at Skavsta Airport, says that there has only been a single departure with the company during the past week. Other traffic has also decreased drastically.

- It's just like in the rest of Europe. We all sit in the same boat. During the next week there will be between four and five flights, he says.

No departures left

Wizz air continues to fly from Skavsta, but the number of departures is few. During the next week there will be between four and five flights.

- They still fly to Budapest and Bucharest, but not many people are flying now either. And everything can change at short notice, says Joakim Lindholm.

Unclear future

During Tuesday evening, the decision was made to short-term leave 120 employees at Skavsta.

How does this affect Skavsta in the long run?

- We don't know that at all, impossible to say. The situation will be different than before. You have never seen such a situation before in society, ”says Joakim Lindholm.
