The health centers Bra Liv has been working with digital doctor visits since 2015. But due to covid-19, more and more patients are now receiving medical care digitally in Jönköping County, a development that would actually take place over a longer period of time.

- Several in the region have offered and asked what they can help us with, the regional development department switched lightning fast and thanks to them 35 employees last week were trained to use the digital app, says Ulf Österstad, operations manager for Bra Liv close.

Last week, a new action plan was decided on how the Good Life Care Centers will protect the older people in the county. One measure is that physicians caring for patients who could potentially be infected with the new coronavirus do not physically meet an elderly patient, if not required.

- This trip would be made overtime, now it suddenly became vital to do it quickly. Now the digital meeting became the basic concept for the doctor's visit and not the physical meeting, says Ulf Österstad.

A nurse visiting an elderly patient can contact a doctor via an app on the mobile phone. Thereafter, the doctor can give instructions to the nurse who in turn examines the patient. But even younger and middle-aged people will be able to use the mobile app Bra Liv to a greater extent because of the new corona virus.

- We can digitally care for all people who do not need to come to the health center, then we reduce the risk of infecting patients in the health care, says Ulf Österstad.

During the week, more and more people working at health centers will be trained in how to use the mobile app and the goal is for the 33 health centers to build up their own digital offerings while also expanding the central offering.
