The Metropolitan said this in a sermon after the Divine Liturgy in the Church of All Who Mourn, Joy in Moscow.

“I would like to draw a special word to our elderly parishioners: come to the temple when you want to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. And if you just want to pray with the church community, then use the electronic means of communication and watch the broadcast of the service, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

The metropolitan explained that at present all services are available live.

“You can pray with us without leaving your home. I repeat once again - this is a temporary measure, ”he emphasized.

Metropolitan Hilarion also recommended that all believers reduce their social circle as much as possible before the end of Lent and the end of quarantine.

Earlier, the Moscow Patriarchate reminded that believers can, with the blessing of the confessor, receive communion without confession, provided that they have no serious sins.

The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) also published instructions to the abbots of parishes and farmsteads, as well as to the hegumen of the monasteries of the Moscow diocese in connection with the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

In particular, refusal to kiss the cross at the end of the liturgy is prescribed, and sanitary rules for sacraments such as baptism, communion and unction are tightened.
