The Prisoners and Editors Affairs Authority of the Palestine Liberation Organization confirmed, Monday, that Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons will start Tuesday, with protest steps against the prison administration, for not taking health measures to confront the virus.

The steps are, according to the authority’s statement, to close the departments and return meals in the various camps.

The statement pointed out that these steps come in response to the decision of the Prison Authority to withdraw 140 items from the prisoners' shop (the cantons), including sterilization materials for confronting the virus.

In its prisons, Israel holds thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including 43 women, 180 children and 700 patients.

In Turkey, the Minister of Justice, Abdul Hamid Gul, announced a series of measures in the country's prisons and courts, to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus.

In a press statement he made after a coordination meeting on Corona's developments, the Turkish minister affirmed that no infection with the aforementioned virus was recorded among prison inmates throughout the country.
