The upper secondary schools have switched to distance education, which obviously affects how teacher students can do their internship.

- Some upper secondary schools conduct distance education from the school and then it is easier with supervision. At other schools, the teachers carry out the teaching from home and then they also receive supervision at a distance, says Greger Andersson, head of the Department of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences at Örebro University.

Misses important parts

When teaching is done at a distance, the teacher students risk missing some course objectives.

- It is above all course goals that deal with contacts with parents and that you should be in the classroom, says Greger Andersson.

The university is now investigating whether these course objectives can be met in a different way, and partly whether they can be supplemented.

Worrying about the elementary schools closing

He believes that there is a risk that some students will not be able to take all their points this semester.

- It could be so. What is worrying is whether the elementary schools close and some do not come out for practice at all.
