March 22, 2020 From today to April 3, the "ban on the movement of people entering and leaving Basilicata" is in force, with the exception of "essential public services" and for "serious health reasons". This was established by an order of the President of the Region, Vito Bardi, with "further restrictive measures" to contain the coronavirus epidemic. Anyone who violates the ordinance must undergo the "obligation to stay at home with fiduciary isolation together with all the cohabitants".

The ordinance also prohibits "anyone from leaving their home, home or residence unless proven working needs are directed to guarantee essential public services, including transit and transportation of goods"; and "situations of necessity, including primary needs of people and pets"; and "travel for serious health reasons".

Previously it had been the president of the Calabria Region, Jole Santelli, to sign an ordinance during the night which provides for the prohibition of any movement of natural persons entering and leaving the regional territory until April 3. In line with the ordinances of the Ministry of Health, the ordinance states that "it is possible to enter or leave Calabria only for journeys deriving from proven working needs related to the offer of essential services or for serious health reasons", explains the note, which then concludes: "In the light of potential exposure to infection, the immediate measure of the mandatory quarantine for 14 days" applies.
