Erik Brännström is a wilderness chef and TV chef in Go'kväll. He lives in a villa in Skellefteå and has not hoarded a single food item for a possible future quarantine.

- I always have food for about a year at home, he laughs. Food is my passion and my life. The freezer is full of everything and the neighbors come over with moose meat, so there is to be removed if we should be locked up.

- You assume that something can always happen, it's like you were raised, you can't take everything for granted.

Is that a sparsely populated area you think?

- Yes absolutely. If you have a long-term and sustainable thinking, you do not have to worry about a quarantine or if you get sick. Then you have not so much at home in big cities, you have so close to everything. In the sparsely populated area, getting to a restaurant or grocery store can be a bigger project, says Erik.

Tips for you who are sick

The food will not end in the grocery stores, so it is stupid to stock up, Erik says, but he still recommends that you have some basic items at home. Even if you have a small pantry.

- Besides salt, pepper and sugar, I always have rice and broth cubes. In addition, I have white beans in tomato sauce and green or red lentils. Dried meat and dried fruit and lemon juice in bottle. We like sausage in our family so we always have some jars at home. And sardines, because I have that as snacks.

What can you do when you are ill?

- I think you can cheat a little, don't do everything from scratch. Buy ready-made fishballs or minced meat sauce and spice up your favorite spice. The ready-made food is designed to fit as many people as possible, so spice it up to make it a little more fun and exciting. Add acid and crispiness, such as toasted crispbread to crumble or a seed mixture.

- Then I think you should dare to test to build raw materials that you do not think fit together: Fish balls in seafood sauce are very good to split and roll into pancake or soft thin bread, it becomes like a seafood crepe.

Elderly people should eat well

Although Erik does not worry for his own part, he thinks a bit about how things will work for colleagues in the restaurant industry when fewer people go out and eat. And for the elderly:

- I hope they still get to eat good food and enjoy, because if you quarantine, maybe the food is what you look forward to most. Shop well for your elderly, not just canned goods, feel free to get some more luxurious restaurant food for your older relatives. Don't eat good food!
