Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the size of Coronavirus infections is not in line with Iran's capabilities, while the number of deaths reached 1556 and the number of infected people is more than 20,000.

Rouhani called on the injured to be treated at home if their condition did not require hospitalization.

As for the Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, he said that Tehran does not have sufficient resources to fight the virus as a result of the US sanctions.

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States is doing everything it can to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Iran and it is not covered by sanctions.

Pompeo added that Washington is doing everything it can to facilitate humanitarian access to Iran and the related financial transactions.

He indicated during the press conference of the American Anti-Corona Task Force, that such aid is not covered by the sanctions imposed on Tehran.

New death toll
A spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Kyanosh Jahanpur, announced that 123 new deaths were recorded due to infection with the Corona virus during the past 24 hours, which led to the increase in the number of deaths in the country to 1556 cases.

Jahanpur also told a news conference that during the past hours, 966 new cases of the virus had been registered, bringing the number of cases in Iran to 20,610.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health said that 7,635 people infected with the virus recovered after receiving treatment and were discharged from hospitals.

He pointed out that the largest number of injuries was recorded in Samnan, near Tehran, given the proportion of the population of the province.
