The man aged 45, living in Uppsala, has been deprived of liberty since the turn of the year after a woman reported him for abuse in connection with a date. In the months that have passed, the investigation has swelled and the man is being held on suspicion of rape against four women.

In addition, he is suspected of crimes against another five women, at least two of which are suspected of violence. All women must in some way have been photographed or filmed.

- There are more women than that. We are working our way through the material we have and then contacting women, says Chamber Prosecutor Moa Blomqvist, who leads the investigation.

- It has been a certain challenge to identify the women, and it is someone we do not yet have a name for. Since then it has sometimes been difficult to get hold of them and to get a hearing.

Do you identify the women through visuals or usernames on forums?

- I do not want to answer that, it is information that we want to save for the hearings.

Matched hit online

Earlier, Moa Blomqvist told us that the man - who refuses to commit crimes - must have met with the women online and that he must have been abusive on the dates. All crimes must have occurred at one of the parties.

- None of the cases have been more than one goal-sitter at a time, she says.

Moa Blomqvist does not want to comment on how many women the man may have committed crimes against.
