The chemists responded that there is a lack of important material in Stockholm's medical care in the wake of the corona pandemic. They contacted Danderyd's Hospital and asked what they needed. What was missing were protective equipment and hand spirit. All natural science institutions began to collect what they had in the form of goggles, aprons and finished handgun. In addition, chemists received everything they could dispense from ethanol, isopropanol, hydrogen preoxide, glycerol, and cans and bottles to be able to manufacture their own hand spirits according to WHO's prescription.

Earlier this week, Danderyds Hospital received, among other things, three moving boxes with hand-sprays on pump bottles, 200 packaging gloves, 40-50 face masks 200 mouthguards and 30 liters of hand-made hand-spirit. Cleaners also collect pump bottles from the now abandoned university to send to the medical service.

Hand spirit production is spreading

Stockholm University's initiative is now spreading in the country and in the world. Labs abroad have heard from them and said that they will also donate equipment for healthcare, and colleges and universities in the country are getting ready to produce hands-on liquor.

- Several universities are preparing to be able to produce hand spirit. They hunt their regions and try to get in touch with the National Board of Health and Welfare to get an ok start. A common yoke for the higher education institutions would really make a difference, says research engineer Hanna Gustavsson.
