The probable cancellation of the Nantes marathon, due to the coronavirus, had plunged the participants into disarray. Because the edition scheduled for April 25 and 26 promised to be special since it was its 40th anniversary, because most of the participants had started weeks ago a fairly rigorous preparation plan, because the reimbursement of registration was really not guaranteed.
However, the event will not be canceled but postponed to a new date. The organizers announced Tuesday evening that the Elephant Strides, the half-marathon and the marathon are now scheduled for October 24 and 25.

Impossible refunds
The registrations, currently suspended, should be reopened at the end of the health crisis, they say. At least 200 bibs for the marathon and a thousand for the Elephant Strides will be sold. Good news for runners who could not participate in the events in the spring.
As for registrants who could not be available this fall, they cannot be reimbursed, deplore the organizers. “We don't have the financial capacity. This type of cancellation is not covered by our insurance, regrets Julien Gaborieau, event coordinator. There will inevitably be dissatisfied, we hope as little as possible. »Interested parties may, however, transfer their bib to another person via the registration platform. "We will try to facilitate as many requests as possible," explains Julien Gaborieau.
The Nantes Marathon events brought together 17,000 registrants last year. The record should have been broken in April.
