Yesterday, the Turkish presidency said that during a video conference, the leaders of Turkey, Germany, Britain and France discussed the Syrian crisis and the refugee problem, in addition to joint efforts to confront the Corona virus.

The presidency added in a statement that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also discussed means of humanitarian aid for Idlib Governorate in northwestern Syria.

The talks revolved around the refugee situation on the Turkish-Greek border.

The meeting was originally planned to be held in Istanbul, but it was decided to convert it to video technology, due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus. Erdogan had met Commission President Urzula von der Line and European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels, on Monday before, after He had announced the opening of his country’s borders to refugees in Turkey wishing to go to Europe.

This announcement led to an influx of thousands towards the Greek border.
