It was last fall that the idea for a Pride Parade in Sölvesborg was born to Sophia Ahlin, as a backlash to the fact that the political government in Sölvesborg made a decision that Pride flags should not be hoisted on municipal buildings.
The municipal council in Sölvesborg, Louise Erixon (SD), then said that flagging on municipal buildings should be done in a traditional way and that does not include the Pride flag. Their decision to stop the Pride flag was criticized by the opposition.
