The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi begins, through the Integrated Transport Center, the activation of the decision of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, regarding the abolition of fees for crossing the four traffic tariff gates on Abu Dhabi Island, until the end of this year.
And the traffic tariff system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi entered into force on the second of January, by calculating the fees for crossing the gates during peak times from 7:00 - 9:00 am, and from 5:00 - 7:00 pm from Saturday to Thursday, At a rate of 4 dirhams per crossing, and a maximum of 16 dirhams for individual vehicles per day, fees are deducted automatically from the prepaid user account, without any charges outside peak times, Friday days, and during official holidays.
The traffic tariff system is applied to four gates on major bridges in Abu Dhabi city, which are Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Al Maqta Bridge and Mussafah Bridge. Fees are calculated on the vehicle through the plate number, without the need to install a transit card for the vehicle's tariff system on the vehicle's windshield.
