A big fire broke out this Saturday around 3 p.m. in Weyersheim (Bas-Rhin), in a house where a large family of nine children lived, the Latest News from Alsace reports. It was also one of them who gave the alert by telling his mother that the sofa was on fire. Eight children, the grandmother and the mom were present at the time of the fire.

Thick toxic smoke filled the house and the flames quickly attacked the roof. Four children were put in safety with the help of residents, specify our colleagues and the mother and grandmother managed to go out on their own. The other four children were rescued by firefighters, but three were evacuated "in absolute emergency" following smoke poisoning.
