In Nice, the outgoing mayor, Christian Estrosi, announced that he was "very largely in the lead" in the first round of the municipal election, ahead of the candidate RN and the Nice Ecologique list.

He was not re-elected in the first round but arrived, in his own words, "very largely in mind". Christian Estrosi, the outgoing LR mayor of Nice, obtained Sunday 47.6% of the votes in the first round of the municipal election, during which he seeks a third mandate. Two other lists are in position to stay in the second round, that of the RN candidate from the Bloc Identitaire Philippe Vardon (16.7%) and the Nice Ecological list of the entrepreneur Jean-Marc Governatori (11.3%).

Participation was limited to 28.6%, 25 points lower than in 2014, said Christian Estrosi. This first round was marked by the division on the left: the citizen list led by the left lawyer Mireille Damiano, the PCF and LFI, ahead with 8.91% the socialist list (6.57%).
