The prospect of Vladimir Putin potentially presiding over Russia until 2036 did not raise any reservations with officials from the 85 administrative regions that make up Russia. From Sevastopol to Vladivostok via Kaliningrad, they praised the constitutional reform.

In the process, Vladimir Putin signed his signature at the bottom of the project which, in addition to resetting his previous presidential terms, notably plans to include in the Russian Constitution indexation of the amount of retirement pensions, widening of the powers of the State Duma, the lower house of Parliament, and restrictions on those who are likely to hold high office in state bodies.

Vote scheduled for April 22

On March 18, this document will be sent to the Constitutional Court for a compliance check. She will have a week to decide, which should be a formality. Finally, on April 22, the Russians will be called to the polls to vote on this reform and it seems that they will do so on all the amendments and not on each of them taken individually.
