US President Donald Trump declared a national emergency Friday due to the rapidly expanding Corona virus, opening the way for federal aid that he said could amount to about $ 50 billion to help contain the disease.

The US president said he declared emergency to unleash "the full strength of the federal government," and urged US states to set up emergency centers to help combat the virus.
