Coronavirus: measures announced by President Macron and those of the rest of the world

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday evening March 12 new measures to deal with the coronavirus epidemic in France. Comparison of these measures with those already implemented in the rest of the world.

No containment measures in France as in China or Italy , the French president just asked to limit movement. New gathering limits will also be announced. So far as in other European countries, those of over 1,000 people are banned.
Emmanuel Macron advised teleworking. This is already the case for a third of the staff of the European Commission. The French president asked for the establishment of a partial unemployment system and a postponement for companies wishing to pay taxes and contributions. Donald Trump made the same type of announcement on Wednesday, March 11.

Possible border closings
The head of state said he would exchange Friday with his American counterpart, and criticized " the division ". In its sights, Donald Trump's ban on flights from Europe for a month - a decision also taken by several Latin American countries.
The French president has only mentioned possible border closure measures, but not for the moment. Austria has already suspended its rail links with Italy, and Germany has implemented border controls with France.
