The meeting of club presidents of Top 14 and Pro D2, scheduled for Monday in Toulouse, is replaced by an exceptional steering committee meeting on Friday, which will decide the fate of professional rugby championships in the face of the epidemic of new coronavirus, has learned the AFP.

The representatives of the 30 elite clubs were to meet in Toulouse to decide between in camera and postponement. But the government announcements of Thursday evening upset the calendar of professional rugby in France: following "the intervention of the President of the Republic, the LNR convenes an Emergency Steering Committee, this Friday March 13 at 2:00 pm", confirmed the National rugby league in a statement released Friday morning.

This emergency steering committee, according to AFP information, should ratify the suspension of the Top 14 and the Pro D2, thus imitating football, basketball, hand or volleyball which have already put their competitions on pause.
