Four new deputies announced Thursday to be reached by the coronavirus: the LREM Sandrine Mörch and Raphaël Gérard, after the leader of the communists André Chassaigne and the deputy UDI Maina Sage, bringing the number of sick parliamentarians to nine.

"Following various flu symptoms, I was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 this day," announced Thursday on Twitter Ms. Mörch (Haute-Garonne), who said that she was part of the Committee on Cultural Affairs where some of her colleagues have been infected with the virus.

"Having no symptoms requiring hospitalization", the 58-year-old member said she had to just "stay isolated" for 14 days at home to avoid any transmission "without denial or panic".

His colleague LREM from the Cultural Affairs Commission Raphaël Gérard (Charente-Maritime) was also diagnosed. The 51-year-old elected official is currently hospitalized but his condition does not raise "any concern", indicates his entourage.

Shortly before them, the leader of the Communist group in the Assembly, André Chassaigne, announced on Facebook that he was hit by Covid-19, but "without any health problems".

Hospitalized at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand, the deputy of Puy-de-Dôme, aged 69, specifies that he is "in an isolation room for a few days before being confined to (his) home to finish the 14 days of + quarantine + ". "I am in great shape, without any health problems. In a way, a simple forced rest," he writes.

Earlier, MP UDI Maina Sage, 44, was diagnosed in French Polynesia, becoming the first case in this overseas community.

The other deputies concerned are the socialists Michèle Victory and Sylvie Tolmont, the walkers Guillaume Vuilletet and Elisabeth Toutut-Picard, as well as Jean-Luc Reitzer, of the LR group, the only deputy to be severely affected.

According to the latest information, Mr. Reitzer is still hospitalized in a stationary and disturbing state.

The National Assembly, which is idling during this period of parliamentary truce in view of the municipal elections, has taken a series of measures to combat the spread of the virus, such as inciting telework.
