“After smoke in the main conveyor mine in the Zapolyarnaya-2 mine, 84 people were withdrawn at 22:40, 158 remained,” the agency quotes RIA Novosti.
As noted, the smoke was received at 21:55, the incident occurred at the Zapolyarnaya-2 mine, Vorkutinskaya block.
Five rescue squads of paramilitary mine rescue units were sent to the site.
Earlier, as a result of methane emission in the Vorkutinskaya mine, two people were killed, 43 people were brought to the surface. At the time of the emergency, 106 people were in the mine.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Violation of the industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two persons through negligence."
