According to the law, Belarusians and Ukrainians can be recognized as carriers provided that they themselves or their direct relatives permanently reside or previously permanently resided in Russia or in the territory belonging to the Russian Empire or the USSR, within the Russian state border.
Earlier, the State Duma adopted a law on the admission of Ukrainians to citizenship without an exam.
As stated in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the cancellation of the interview for fluent Russian-speaking Ukrainians and Belarusians will help optimize the admission to citizenship of about 200 thousand people.
