According to a BVA survey for Europe 1 published Wednesday, the balance sheet of Anne Hidalgo, outgoing mayor of Paris, is very disputed. But no obvious alternative is emerging for the socialist candidate, whose lists are credited with 24% of the votes in the first round.

EXCLUSIVE

From Anne Hidalgo, it has often been said that she would perhaps come out winning the ballot box for lack of a sufficiently convincing alternative opposite. This seems to be confirmed for the socialist mayor of Paris, candidate for re-election to municipal elections, according to an exclusive BVA survey for Europe 1 published Wednesday. According to this survey, its record is indeed very criticized. With 24% of voting intentions, the lists it supports only come second, behind the LR lists led by Rachida Dati (25%). However, none of Anne Hidalgo's main opponents, Rachida Dati and Agnès Buzyn, fully convince Parisian voters.

A highly contested assessment

Only 40% of Parisians say they are satisfied with the action of Anne Hidalgo. Conversely, 22% are "not very satisfied" and 36% "not at all satisfied". A result clearly lower than the national average, since on the whole territory, 71% of the French are satisfied with the mandate of their outgoing mayor.

Supporters of the right, center and far right are the most critical with Anne Hidalgo: among people who say they are close to the Republicans, 89% are not satisfied with his record. If we look at age criteria, Anne Hidalgo mainly convinces only those under 35. Among those 65 and over, the dissatisfaction rate even reaches 78%.

In total, 65% of those questioned believe that the next municipal elections are "an opportunity to change municipal teams". By way of comparison, throughout France, only 36% of voters make this answer. In Paris more than elsewhere therefore, the residents contest the local power in place. It is also interesting to observe that the two main priorities of Parisians are first of all cleanliness (56% of those questioned cite this criterion), then security (43%). Two themes on which Anne Hidalgo's balance sheet is regularly attacked.

Neither Dati nor Buzyn would do better, voters say

Despite this dissatisfaction, there is no clear alternative. When asked about the personality they would like to see elected mayor of Paris, 30% of voters answered Anne Hidalgo and 30% also cited candidate LR, Rachida Dati. They are 20% to mention Agnès Buzyn (LREM) but also 20% to refuse to choose between the three.

Rachida Dati appears as a very divisive personality: 34% of those questioned estimate that she would do "worse" than Anne Hidalgo if she arrived at the Town Hall, 38% that she would do "better" and 22% " neither better nor worse ". Agnès Buzyn is certainly less polarizing, but not more convincing: 28% of those polled think that she would do less well, 33% that she would do better, 29% neither better nor less well.

* Study carried out on the Internet with a sample of 1,202 people registered on the electoral lists, from a representative sample of 1,385 inhabitants of Paris aged 18 and over. The representativeness of the sample was ensured by the quota method applied to the following variables: sex, age, profession of the interviewee and district of residence.
