Vibrant farewell to footballers from the Star of Guinea in Conakry

In Guinea, a national funeral took place yesterday in Conakry in memory of the ten victims of the road accident which decimated the second division team Star of Guinea last Thursday. During a ceremony in the presence of the First Lady, the Prime Minister and several members of the government, a final tribute was paid to adolescents whose careers were too quickly cut short.

The cries and tears rise from the stands of the September 28 stadium at the announcement of each of the ten names when the coffins, covered with the Guinean flag, arrive

The crowd was large around the stadium of September 28, divided between emotion, anger and indignation against the road accidents which do not stop mourning the country.

The Guinean State must take its responsibilities: it is neither the first time nor the last time; we have dilapidated vehicles, which are not up to standard.
