According to them, Russian planes entered the air defense identification zone north of Alaska and remained there for about four hours.

"NORAD fighters escorted the Tu-142 while they were in the air defense recognition zone," the report said.

As indicated, Russian aircraft during the flight on March 9 did not enter the airspace of the United States and Canada.

In August 2019, NORAD reported that the F-22 and Hornet CF-18 were lifted into the air to escort two Russian strategic airborne bombers Tu-95 near Alaska.
