The reason for the new building is that you want to gather all the activities in one place. Today, the Sea Rescue Society starts from three different places in Motala, depending on whether it is about boats, hovercraft or watercraft. In Vadstena you use a jetty and a basement room.

The first part of the goal is to get together SEK 1.6 million to mold a house plot and get roofs and walls.

- We will seek grants from foundations and foundations. Then we hope that various companies here want to help and donate building materials or labor, says Johan Weber, one of Vadstena-Motala's voluntary sea rescuers.

"No government contribution"

The Sea Rescue Society is a non-profit organization. The Vadstena-Motala department has about 25 volunteer sea rescuers who take care of round-the-clock preparedness during all the days of the year.

- We have no contributions from the state but are totally dependent on donations, wills and companies that donate money to us.

With a new station house, you will, among other things, be able to dry your costumes, perform service on equipment and vehicles, have a meeting place for the crew before and after the alarm. The bridge in Vadstena you want to keep.
