According to Lars Lilja (S), they want to drive to be as environmentally friendly as possible by, among other things, going public. He thinks that Länstrafiken in Västerbotten can postpone its conversion to become fossil-free from 2025 to 2030.

- It is very boring but at the same time I think they made a realistic assessment. We know that there is a great lack of HVO and many people want to make the transition, not just the county traffic in Västerbotten.

Is that a problem?

“Since public transport is tax-financed at 50 per cent, it will of course be more expensive in some way. Either for already pressed municipalities and regions or for travelers.

Calls for action at national level

But some influence on the fuel issue is difficult to get for local politicians in Västerbotten. Their help is therefore very small, says Lars Lilja (S).

- From here, little Västerbotten, we probably can't do much. This requires efforts at, at first, national level to facilitate the production of HVO.

So you can't do anything?

- From here I don't think so.
