The State Council of Belgium has accepted a judicial challenge to the decision to send arms exports from Wallonia Province to Saudi Arabia, due to the human rights violations it represents.

The Belgian State Council considered that appeals against licenses to export arms and military equipment to Saudi Arabia - submitted by three NGOs - are serious.

He said that these licenses contravened the norms of international humanitarian law, and with the content of a decree passed by the Wallonia District on the export and transfer of weapons and defense-related products to countries that violate human rights.

Three human rights organizations in Belgium welcomed the decision of the Council of State and considered it extremely important.

She pointed out that the State Council warned in its decision that the Saudi National Guard is involved in the conflict in Yemen, and may use weapons supplied from Wallonia in the context of this war.
