The teachers at Samuel Day's Education Center Back to work, have stopped giving grades. Since more and more students have been threatening, they have changed their routines.

- We have had to make it so that I leave the grades, so that the teachers will avoid threats and inconveniences, says Samuel Dag, Head of Operations at Back to work.

His school is one of nine that offers Swedish for immigrants in Västerås. At the beginning of the year, Folkuniversitetet discontinued its SFI teaching as they failed to attract enough new students. The competition is great and two new schools are already in the process of establishing themselves in Västerås. There is no limit to how many schools are allowed to operate in the city.

Schools are paid per teaching hour at SFI. When it comes to Swedish as a second language, they get paid per point.
