This anger of the Nigerien magistrates follows the press release of the government, diffused at the end of February, after the audit of the military expenses which revealed important hijackings. The press release ensures that only those who fail to reimburse what they owe will be brought to justice.

This position of the government is unacceptable for the Autonomous Syndicate of the Magistrates of Niger (Saman), supported today by several other unions. A real judicial slingshot is organized in the country. The magistrates have already rallied to their case the Association of Young Lawyers, the Union of Justice Agents and the Niger Bar.

In a joint declaration, made public on Monday, March 9, the signatories ask the government to transmit, without delay, to the judicial authorities, the final report of the audit of the Department of National Defense. " It is not up to the government to sort between those who must be brought to justice and the others, " explains the president of the bar association.

Growling

To defend the values of justice in Niger, the signatories also decided to create a framework for concerted action by justice actors. At this point, it is a union to unite and take a position of principle. " If we are not heard, if the government does not hear right, we will continue the fight, " says the chairman of the board Boubacar Oumarou.

This discontent has been going up for several days. She received, on the day of Monday, March 9, the " unwavering " support of the National Union of Customs Officers (SNAD) which calls on the other unions to support the actions of the magistrates " without reservation " and " until victory final ”.
