"Just disproportionate and unforgivable violence. Whatever he does. And he did nothing. " It is with these words that a mother from Lyon condemned Saturday night the violence suffered by her 16 year old son while he was participating in the center of Lyon, in the 69th day of mobilization of "yellow vests". A demonstration marked by multiple tensions, during which 20 demonstrators and 24 police officers were injured.

Among the violence that enamelled the procession, the IGPN opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances in which this 16-year-old high school student had his jaw fractured by a LBD shot. A shooting which would have intervened, according to the family of the victim who complained Sunday morning, when the boy had just joined the demonstration. “Barely five minutes after arriving, the police began to gas. It was the first incidents. He then turned around. It was there that he was shot by a police officer who used the demonstrators at face level, ”his father told our colleagues at Rue89Lyon.

The boy operated on this Monday

The adolescent is due for jaw surgery on Monday in Lyon. According to the Lyon prosecutor's office, which refers to “a suspected LBD shooting” in this case, four other demonstrators were seriously injured during the demonstration. The IGPN should be seized for each of these cases in order to verify the context in which they were injured.
