Diesel theft at a rest stop in Falkenberg

It was at the rest area at Skrea Backe that a truck driver discovered that someone had emptied the truck of 500 liters of gasoline, and the Rescue Service was alerted to the scene at 6.20am.

- Someone has tried to hose a truck on diesel, but it is pretty much on the slopes so how much they hose and how much is on the slopes we do not currently know. We are there now and will be decontaminated, says Andreas Karlsson, external commander of the Rescue Service.

According to him, this type of theft is relatively common, as SVT News Halland and previously reported.

- It looks pretty dense.

Update at 6.55am. The rescue services have now left the scene after their investigation showed that there were no major emissions. The police are now in place.
