The bank SBAB has mapped out what it looks like in the country's 20 largest municipalities. The survey is based on figures from Statistics Sweden.

The study looks at men and women aged 40 to 44 in a couple relationship and whether the calculation goes together if they want to separate and buy a third that will accommodate both a parent and two children of 5 and 7 years.

Both men and women are affected in Eskilstuna

In eight of the municipalities surveyed, the economy goes together for the men, but in no municipality does the calculation go together for the women.

In Eskilstuna, neither the women nor the men get together the calculation.

The average income in Eskilstuna is SEK 31,216 for men and SEK 25,250 for women. At the same time, the average price for a three in Eskilstuna is SEK 1,442,500, which means a cash contribution of SEK 213,675.

- Given that women have a lower income, they are longer after men, says Claudia Wörmann, housing economist at SBAB.

May be visible during separation

She emphasizes that the figures are general and that there can of course be deviations, but on average women earn less than men.

Claudia Wörmann says that women who want to separate can be warned that the economy does not work until a separation is a fact.

- Then the woman realizes that "oh, you've made a career and I've been home with the kids. Which has affected my finances ”.

Talk through and make a sketch

At the same time, Claudia Wörman says that the problem can be curbed if couples go through their finances once a year based on a fairness standard.

She also thinks that it is good to talk through the economy and make a sketch of what the future might look like when you start a relationship.
