Local sources said that the Houthis launched a new attack on the locations of the army forces in the Khub and Al-Sha`f district, the border with Saudi Arabia, which belongs to the Yemeni province of Al-Jawf, days after they took control of the city of Al-Hazm, the administrative center of the province.

The sources added that clashes erupted between the army and the Houthis in the Yatma area of the Khub and Al-Sha`f district. No information about the losses has been received so far.

Commenting on the progress of the Houthis in that province, Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Iryani said that the Houthis' control of parts of Al-Jawf Governorate is not the end of the battle, and that the national army is able to regain the initiative.

Al-Iryani continued - in tweets on Twitter - that the Houthis took advantage of international pressure and moves to reduce the escalation and push for a peaceful solution to the crisis to absorb their losses and smuggle weapons of quality.

The Minister of Information added that the National Army - which valiantly confronted the Iranian plan - was able to restore "firmness" and "ghail" in Al-Jouf, and to go to Sanaa with the support and support of the Saudi-led coalition.

Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, an adviser to the president and former prime minister, had warned that the Houthi control of al-Jawf governorate recently had changed the balance of military power once and for all in the battle for the Houthis locally, and for Iran regionally.

Bin Dagher said that if the government and the coalition dealt with the situation in Al-Jawf, such as dealing with the Houthi control of the Nahham region, then this would mean the end of the coalition's role in Yemen.

Humanitarian aid
On the other hand, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the organization's headquarters in New York.

The meeting was held at the request of the United States, amid media reports indicating that Pompeo was putting pressure on Guterres to cut UN humanitarian aid to areas under Houthi control.

A spokesman for Guterres said three days ago that the organization is committed to providing humanitarian assistance to those in need in Yemen and does not want to reduce it, as it did previously, in response to the restrictions faced by the Houthi authorities in the north of the country.
