The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that all countries should make containment of the outbreak of the Corona Virus a top priority, saying it is wrong to believe that the virus will disappear during the summer.

The organization stressed that fighting the epidemic requires countries to work together, and praised Iran for "focusing attention" on the outbreak of the Corona virus there, and for adopting a method of "concerted and unified efforts of all ministries and departments."

"We are now close to reaching 100,000 confirmed cases," WHO Director-General Tidros Adhanom Gebresos told reporters, noting that (the epidemic) is expanding geographically and deepening anxieties.

"We still recommend that all countries make containment of the virus a top priority," he added.

The organization played down expectations that the Corona virus would subside, and considered it wrong to believe that the virus would disappear during the summer as if it were just a flu.

In fact, the number of cases exceeded 100,000, and the World Health Organization statistics are generally lagging behind the numbers collected by media organizations.
