The President of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michel Bachelet, called on Friday for governments that are resorting to measures to close areas and impose a quarantine against the new Corona "Covid-19", to ensure respect for human rights.

A statement issued by the Bachelet office said, "Closures, isolation and other measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 and combat its spread should be carried out in full accordance with human rights standards and in a manner considered necessary and proportionate to the risk assessment."

The statement also called for avoiding any unintended repercussions from the actions related to the Corona virus on the livelihoods of those affected.

With the emergence of the new Corona virus "Covid-19" and its spread in 81 countries, several countries have taken measures to control it.

The Corona virus appeared for the first time in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019, globally more than 3,200 deaths, and 94,000 infections.

At the end of January, the World Health Organization declared a state of emergency on an international scale to cope with the outbreak of the virus, which sparked a state of terror in the world.
