The Scotland-France match scheduled for Saturday at the Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow for the Six Nations women's tournament has been postponed after one of the players of the Thistle team contracted the coronavirus, organizers announced on Friday.

This decision was taken after a "positive result" to the coronavirus Friday of a Scottish player who had made the trip the weekend of February 23 in northern Italy. The team went to Lombardy to face Italy, but the match was finally postponed due to the multiplication of cases in this region of the north of the country.

"Seven other leaders and players" were placed in confinement "on medical advice," said the Scottish federation. "The player was admitted to a hospital as part of the planned protocol and is otherwise doing well," she said.

Italy, the most affected country in Europe, recorded Friday 49 new deaths linked to the coronavirus in 24 hours, that is to say 197 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic.
