Jan-Ingvar Jönsson fits the requirements profile the university has and is considered to have "good conditions to meet the expectations that are internal as well as external and he has great potential to contribute to continued successful development for Linköping University".
Professor Jan-Ingvar Jönsson has worked at Linköping University since 2003 and his research area is blood stem cells and leukemia.
Since 2016 he has been Scientific Secretary in the Swedish Research Council.
The University Board's proposal is now passed on to the government, which then appoints Linköping University's new headmaster.
