According to the police, the arrested man is in his 40s, the same age as the murdered woman. He was one of several that the investigative leadership was interested in at an early stage.

It was on Thursday that a friend of the murdered became worried and sought her out. According to the Gothenburg Post, the apartment door was unlocked and when her friend walked in she should have found the woman murdered and alerted the police.
