A thief who was involved with two other people in stealing a 13-meter electric cable belonging to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority after he was cut from his path on a street in the Jebel Ali area committed to attend the General Police Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department and surrendered after feeling guilty and guilty to conscience, he said, and instructed About his partners in crime.

Investigations by the Dubai Public Prosecution stated that the three defendants went to the work site of one of the companies supplying the Electricity Authority, cut off the electrical cable, then proceeded to escape and later contacted a person residing in another emirate and sold him the cable, and he was also arrested for his knowledge of stealing the cable before purchasing it.

An engineer affiliated with the authority said that he went to the work area and discovered that an electric cable had been cut and stolen from an underground hole that was stretched to deliver electricity in the Jebel Ali industrial area, noting that he had seen the cable hours before it was stolen and confirmed its existence.

For his part, a witness from Dubai Police said that a report was received about the theft of electric cables from the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, pointing out that the site was reviewed and witnesses were heard, but no one was intimidated because there were no surveillance cameras.

He added that after about one week, a call was received from the Sharjah Police Investigation Department stating that he had arrested a person with electric cables, and by asking him he had received a phone call from an unknown person stating that he had electrical cables for sale, he met him and bought the cable from him.

The witness referred to the communication with the unknown who called the accused buyer, and it turned out to be one of the thieves, and by asking him by phone, he admitted his crime and pledged to attend and committed to that, read that he had sinned and felt a remorse, and instructed his two colleagues who were seized at a later time.

For their part, the other two defendants confessed to criminal participation in carrying out the robbery, and they all guided to the place from which they stole the electrical cable. The fourth defendant also confessed to the buyer that he met them and bought them the cable by transferring 1300 dirhams despite his knowledge of the theft, and they were all referred to the criminal court in Dubai, which started their trial. .
