RAF wants to make an assessment of the technology and evaluate future requirements in air traffic management. The system will be installed during 2020 and 2021.

- Our experience in digital air traffic management and our focus on safety, together with the UK's air force operational knowledge, gives Saab an excellent opportunity to show how the air force can benefit from our digital tower system, says Per Ahl, CEO of Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions (SDATS ), in a statement.

Last year, NATO purchased the technology for a digital air traffic controller tower at its air base in Geilenkirchen, Germany. SDATS is a so-called joint venture between Saab and the Civil Aviation Administration and was established in 2016.
