Originally, a suspicion of adultery and excessive jealousy. A 51-year-old man was sentenced on Tuesday in Sables-d'Olonne (Vendée) to 18 months in prison, six of which are closed, reports the Journal des Sables . The accused was accused of violently assaulting his colleague with a shovel.

The facts took place last weekend, inside the company where the two men work. Several blows had been struck, including one with the edge of the tool. Injured in the head and arm, the victim had received 15 days of total work interruption.

In recidivism

The accused, who said he regretted his gesture, had already been sentenced in the past for violence against his partner, the newspaper said. He was also given the obligation to follow medical treatment and the prohibition to hold a weapon for five years.
