The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria reported receipt of irrefutable evidence of the failed provocation using chemical weapons from the terrorists of the Khayyat Tahrir al-Sham group in Idlib. According to representatives of the military, they were obtained as a result of hostilities between militants and units of the Syrian government forces in the eastern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone.

“In order to disrupt the advance of the Syrian government forces in the western quarters of the settlement of Sarakib and subsequently charge them with the use of chemical weapons, on March 2, at night, a group of terrorists of up to 15 people attempted to detonate high-explosive ammunition along with tanks filled with poisonous chemicals. Due to the lack of necessary experience and skills in handling toxic chemicals, the terrorists violated the tightness of one of the containers, allowing the leakage of substances next to them, ”the message said.

It is noted that the terrorists were not able to carry out the undermining of ammunition and implement the provocation, having received severe chemical poisoning.

The CPVS emphasized that they have irrefutable data confirming what happened, this information will be released in the near future.

On the eve of the Syrian media reported that they regained control of the city of Sarakib in the province of Idlib. Then it became known that units of the Russian military police were introduced into the village. They are designed to ensure the safety and unhindered movement of vehicles and civilians along the M4 and M5 highways.

Earlier, Igor Konashenkov, an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that the observation posts of Turkish military personnel located in the Idlib de-escalation zone have grown together with the fortified areas of terrorist groups, including Hayat Tahrir Ash-Sham. According to him, this happened for almost a year and a half since the signing of the Sochi agreements between Russia and Turkey, within the framework of which Ankara has committed itself to pushing terrorists with their heavy artillery from the borders of the Idlib zone for 15-20 km.

The representative of the defense department also called “the next moment of truth the ousting of militants from Aleppo and the M5 highway.

“Public threats to destroy all units of the Syrian government forces and return the M5 highway to terrorist control in the US and Europe are allegedly called Ankara’s legal defense rights,” the Russian defense department said.
