China News Agency, Bangkok, March 4th (Kingdom Yin Bo) From March 1st to 4th, the "Golden Cobra-2020" joint military exercise held humanitarian relief disaster reduction drills at the National Disaster Reduction Training Center in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

More than 200 officers, soldiers and civilians from seven countries including China, the United States, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia participated in the exercise. More than 20 officers and soldiers participating in the Chinese performance and other participants participated in the water rescue team, debris flow rescue team, building collapse and fire rescue team, and medical emergency team to participate in the exercise.

The exercise simulated severe typhoons and destructive torrential rains in southern Thailand, which caused secondary disasters such as severe floods, mudslides, and the collapse of buildings, resulting in serious casualties and property damage. With the escalation of the disaster, the government of the affected country issued a rescue request to the international community and received assistance from foreign military resources. China, the United States, and other countries quickly deployed military and civilian forces to the disaster-stricken areas for relief. The multinational task force forms a multinational coordination center based on the wishes of the affected country to direct and control the joint operations of the rescue forces of various countries.

During the four-day drill, the joint officers and soldiers conducted joint grouping and strengthening training on rescue subjects such as air and ground search, low-altitude descent, rope crossing, water salvage, and on-site medical emergency rescue around different types of disasters. It further improved and strengthened the benign interactions and exchanges and cooperation between the participating countries in the response to major natural disasters.

The entire military exercise will continue until March 6. (Finish)
