- It was a very unusual sight that met us. When we opened the doors in the morning, 20 people came in and had questions about a strange SMS they received with Handelsbanken as the sender, says Andreas Borgefors, head of office.

The SMS asked recipients to call a phone number because their accounts could be subject to fraud.

Affects credibility

- This is unfortunate in many ways, partly because they worry about the individual and partly because the fraudsters affect the bank's own credibility because they use the same channels as we do. and similar.

However, Andreas Borgefors emphasizes that the bank would never call and ask for any login or credit card information. He also believes that the fraudsters are buying ready-made telephone records and in the present case, it appeared that they were mainly aimed at men over the age of 60 in Avesta.

- But, this time it seems to have gone well, they do not seem to have reached any information and we were able to reassure a large number of customers on site here in the office.
